Logitech MX Keypad Debuts as AI Control Center for Developers

San Jose, September 9 — The shift is towards more intuitive control over AI workflows, and Logitech is at the forefront with its latest announcement. On September 8, 2026, Logitech announced the MX Keypad, a customizable physical control device designed as an AI control center for developers working across multiple applications and AI agents. The MX Keypad aims to address the challenge of juggling an ever-increasing range of AI tools, offering cross-app compatibility with major coding platforms and unlimited customization for individual workflows.

This is a significant development, as it allows developers to orchestrate AI workflows faster and more intuitively, according to Anatoliy Polyanker, VP and GM at Logitech. The MX Keypad has already gained traction with plugins created and tested by developers for GitHub Copilot and Claude Code, and the community has already published plugins for Claude Code and OpenAI Codex to the Logi Marketplace.

This enables real-time agent status tracking and CLI control on physical keys, making it a powerful tool for developers.

Collaboration and Integration

The MX Keypad was developed in close collaboration with GitHub, launching with native integration for GitHub including VS Code and the GitHub Copilot app, with plans to expand functionality across more tools over time. Every MX Keypad includes 3 free months of GitHub Copilot Pro+, redeemable in Logi Options+ for both new and existing users. Martin Woodward, VP of Developer Relations at GitHub, said MX Keypad makes working with GitHub Copilot feel like a natural part of the workflow, letting developers spend less time navigating tools and more time building.

What’s changing is the way developers interact with AI tools, and the MX Keypad is at the forefront of this shift. With the Logi Actions SDK, software engineers can build custom tools, with AI-friendly documentation enabling coding agents to generate custom integrations directly from the SDK.

The device reaches over 100 million compatible Logitech devices, making it a significant player in the market.

Sustainability and Availability

The MX Keypad features certified post-consumer recycled plastic—64% for graphite and 49% for pale grey models—and uses paper packaging from FSC-certified forests and other controlled sources. The device is priced at $99.99 USD/€99.99 and will be available in select markets in Graphite and Pale Grey color options on Logitech.com starting September 8, 2026. As the trend underneath the development of AI control centers continues to evolve, further innovations from Logitech and its partners may follow.

With the MX Keypad, developers can now work more efficiently and intuitively with AI tools, and it will be interesting to see how this technology continues to shape the industry.
