Liner Wins AI-Based Education Solution of the Year at 2026 Awards

SEOUL, June 25 — A South Korean artificial intelligence firm has taken one of the top honours in this year’s AI Breakthrough Awards, a recognition programme now in its ninth year. Liner, an AI research platform built around what it calls an “evidence-first” approach, was named “AI-based Education Solution of the Year” for 2026. The award programme, which organisers describe as the longest-running recognition effort dedicated exclusively to the artificial intelligence industry, drew more than 5,000 nominations from over 20 countries this year.

The list of nominees spanned companies, technologies, and products that officials said are shaping the future of AI. For Liner, the recognition marks a growing footprint in how learners at various stages of life discover, evaluate, and use information.

According to the company’s announcement, the platform has distinguished itself in an era of rapid AI adoption across education and research by prioritising citation-backed outputs, source traceability, and research workflows that help users verify claims rather than simply accept generated answers. Luke Kim, Liner’s CEO, framed the award in terms of accountability. “We believe the future of AI in education requires accountability,” Kim said in a statement.

“Students, researchers, and educators need tools that improve productivity without losing confidence in what they are reading and citing. At Liner, we’ve built an AI research platform for reliable, source-verified learning and we’re honoured to see that approach recognised by AI Breakthrough.” The company describes its platform as an AI search and research tool designed for people who “cannot afford to be wrong.” Unlike conventional AI tools that the company says prioritise quick optimisation over factual grounding, Liner is built to keep evidence close to the answer.

The platform, according to the announcement, helps users inspect sources quickly, evaluate context, and move from a question to a defensible insight with greater speed and confidence. The distinction comes at a time when AI’s role in education is the subject of intense debate across the region and internationally. In South Korea, where the government has invested heavily in digital education infrastructure, the question of how to integrate AI tools without undermining academic integrity has been a recurring theme in policy discussions.

Liner’s approach, which emphasises source traceability and verification, appears to align with those concerns. The AI Breakthrough Awards programme, which opened its call for nominations earlier this year, has grown steadily since its inception. This year’s tally of more than 5,000 nominations from over 20 countries indicates the breadth of activity in the field.

Liner’s win in the education category places it among a select group of companies recognised across various AI sectors. Industry observers will be watching whether Liner’s model of evidence-first AI research gains further traction in academic and research institutions, particularly in markets where concerns about AI-generated misinformation are prompting calls for greater transparency in digital learning tools.

For now, the company has secured a notable endorsement from one of the longest-running awards in the field.
