AI Visibility Tools Help B2B Marketers Track AI Search

CHICAGO, Sept. 3 — Business software buyers are increasingly asking AI chatbots where to turn before they ever open a search engine, and a new category of tools is emerging to help vendors make sure they get the answer right. G2’s March survey of 1,076 B2B software buyers and decision-makers found that 51% now start software research with an AI chatbot more often than with Google, up from 29% in the company’s 2025 research. Seventy-one percent said they use AI chatbots at some point during their research.

That shift is fueling so-called AI visibility tools, which monitor how often a brand appears in AI-generated answers, which competitors get recommended, and what sources the AI cites. When the answer is wrong or the brand is missing entirely, the platforms are meant to tell marketers what to do about it.

A detailed comparison of ten such tools, published August 31, sorts them by the job they actually do. Some are pure analytics products. Others help diagnose content and citation gaps.

A smaller group turns findings into a recurring list of concrete actions with a feedback loop — the difference, in plain terms, between knowing you have a problem and having a plan to fix it. The article breaks AI visibility into four distinct outcomes.

A mention means the AI names the company. A citation points to its website or another source. A recommendation puts the company on the shortlist handed to the buyer.

Fact drift is the trouble case: the system describes the company incorrectly or in a poor light, citing an old product capability, a stale price, or a brand-safety issue picked up from third-party sources. A company can have strong AI visibility and still be presented badly to buyers. Among the ten evaluated, HeyAmos is called the strongest fit for measurement plus a recurring improvement workflow.

Peec AI is a strong analytics-first option. Profound targets enterprises with an AI-engine-optimization workflow, suited to teams that can build their own agentic processes.

Scrunch helps when the problem is brand narrative, accuracy, or competitive visibility, while Otterly AI is positioned as the low-cost entry point. The list also includes AthenaHQ, which puts more weight on perception and action; Semrush AI Visibility and Ahrefs Brand Radar for teams already living in those platforms; Writesonic as a content-production specialist; and SE Ranking, which treats AI visibility as an add-on to its SEO suite. The article draws a hard line between the old playbook and the new one.

Traditional SEO is built around search queries, rankings, and pages. AI visibility work is built around prompts.

The practical upshot for buyers: figure out what job each platform is actually good at — and know when to stop shopping for another dashboard and use tools already sitting in the team’s stack.
